{"id":1499,"date":"2010-09-09T17:43:02","date_gmt":"2010-09-09T21:43:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rayvanneste.com\/?p=1499"},"modified":"2013-06-17T16:39:09","modified_gmt":"2013-06-17T20:39:09","slug":"robert-jenson%e2%80%99s-new-ezekiel-commentary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rayvanneste.com\/?p=1499","title":{"rendered":"Robert Jenson&#8217;s new Ezekiel Commentary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rayvanneste.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Jenson-Ezekiel.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1500\" title=\"Jenson Ezekiel\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/rayvanneste.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Jenson-Ezekiel.jpg\" width=\"107\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>I have been perusing Robert Jenson&#8217;s new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1587431661?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=thechildrshou-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=1587431661\">Ezekiel commentary in the Brazos Theological Commentary on the Bible series<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" juktsbgsizkryidmxhnq juktsbgsizkryidmxhnq egatgnsimdguhfetnfnf\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=thechildrshou-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=1587431661\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/> and have found much to like.\u00a0 Jenson does not hedge his bets but rights in a straightforward, winsome manner affirming confidence in the text and its theological meaning.\u00a0 For example in reference to the date of Ezekiel, he affirms the date given in Ezekiel 1:2 writing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;&#8230;there seems to be no good reason to doubt this dating . . . though of course some scholars have managed it.&#8221;\u009d (20)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I particularly appreciate his description of his approach and aim as seen in these two excerpts.
