\nLet Thy staff my steps direct.
\nMay Thy crook of comfort my heart console
\nThrough dark death’s vale protect
\nIn pleasant pastures greened by grace
\nMake Thou my soul to lie
\nBy peaceful waters wind my ways
\nTill I to Thy fold draw nigh.<\/p>\n
\nOur wayward souls restore.
\nFrom robbers, thieves, and ravenous beasts
\nSecure Thy sheepfold’s door.
\nAway from sin’s entangling snares
\nDirect our straying feet,
\nOf strangers’ lures let us beware,
\nAs we hear and follow Thee.<\/p>\n
\n“Then feed my hung’ring sheep.”\u009d
\nTo deny him can never be our choice
\nIf our love for him runs deep
\nAs Jesus did his life lay down
\nHis sheep one flock to make,
\nMay we His gift of love compound
\nIn our service for his sake.<\/p>\n
\nWhen life’s great course concludes
\nPast starry heavens bring our souls,
\nTo realms of highest good,
\nTill we find Mercy’s mystic source,
\nShall drink from Goodness’ well,
\nAnd in Thy house forevermore
\nSecure with Thee shall dwell.<\/p>\n
