In stating the qualifications for serving as an elder\/pastor the text states that &#8220;his children are believers.&#8221;\u009d It could also be translated &#8220;his children are faithful.&#8221;\u009d The standard commentaries do not wrestle much with this issue, but it is huge in considering who should serve in this important role. In dialogue with Justin Taylor I discovered he had written a paper on this very topic. I am very pleased to see <a href=\"http:\/\/9marks.org\/partner\/Article_Display_Page\/0,,PTID314526%7CCHID598014%7CCIID2301462,00.html\">it is now available<\/a> in the most recent <a href=\"http:\/\/filemanager.silaspartners.com\/dox\/9marks\/9news\/feb079news.pdf\">9 Marks newsletter<\/a>. This is a well written piece and I commend it to you.
