My poem of the week this week is another on the theme of perseverance. I am finishing out the school year with my boys memorizing these as an aid to stir them on to difficult tasks- and to stir me on as well!<\/p>\n
Be Strong!<\/b><\/p>\n
Be strong!
\nWe are not here to play, to dream, to drift;
\nWe have hard work to do, and loads to lift;
\nShun not the struggle\u2015face it; \u2018tis God\u2019s gift.<\/p>\n
Be strong!
\nSay not, \u201cThe days are evil. Who\u2019s to blame?\u201d
\nAnd fold the hands and acquiesce\u2015oh shame!
\nStand up, speak out, and bravely, in God\u2019s name.<\/p>\n
Be strong!
\nIt matters not how deep intrenched the wrong,
\nHow hard the battle goes, the day how long;
\nFaint not\u2015fight on! To-morrow comes the song.<\/p>\n
