{"id":395,"date":"2008-11-10T05:33:00","date_gmt":"2008-11-10T09:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rayvanneste.com\/?p=395"},"modified":"2013-06-26T13:25:36","modified_gmt":"2013-06-26T17:25:36","slug":"word-within-the-word","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rayvanneste.com\/?p=395","title":{"rendered":"Word Within the Word"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rvanneste.blogspot.com\/2008\/10\/ryan-center-conference-2009.html\">Last month I mentioned<\/a> that Dr. Don Carson will be our plenary speaker at the Ryan Center conference this coming April. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uu.edu\/events\/WordWithinTheWord\">The conference web page<\/a> is now up and online registration is open.<\/p>\n<p>The conference theme is &#8220;Word Within the Word: The New Testament Use of the Old Testament.&#8221;\u009d Dr. Carson will develop this theme in his three plenary addresses.<\/p>\n<p>Breakout sessions will further develop the main theme as well as addressing other issues in studying the Bible. David and Sally Michael, from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.childrendesiringgod.org\/\">Children Desiring God<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hopeingod.org\/\">Bethlehem Baptist Church<\/a>, will join us to lead a breakout session on engaging children in Bible study. Ray Clendenen and Terry Wilder, both of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bhpublishinggroup.com\/academic\">B&amp;H Academic<\/a>, will lead sessions on Malachi and the book of Romans respectively. Other Union faculty will lead breakout sessions.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will begin Friday evening, April 24 and conclude sat afternoon, April 25. The cost is $50 per person until March 23, when the price becomes $60.
