On Wednesday Dr. Ray Ortlund will preach from Psalm 1 on the place of the Word in worship. His wife, Jani, will be with him and she will be speaking to ladies at 3pm on the topic, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/home.php#\/event.php?eid=66720198803&amp;ref=nf\">&#8220;Fearlessly Feminine: Boldly Embracing God&#8217;s Plan for Womanhood.&#8221;<\/a> Dr. Ortlund was a favorite professor of mine when I was at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He currently serves as pastor of Immanuel Church in Nashville and writes the blog &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/christisdeeperstill.blogspot.com\/\">Christ is Deeper Still.&#8221;\u009d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Friday we will have <a href=\"http:\/\/bondbooks.net\/\">Douglas Bond<\/a> author of numerous books, including the <a href=\"http:\/\/bondbooks.net\/crown_and_covenant.htm\">Crown &amp; Covenant Trilogy<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/bondbooks.net\/Faith%20and%20Freedom.htm\">Faith &amp; Freedom Trilogy<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"http:\/\/bondbooks.net\/mr__pipes_series.htm\">Mr. Pipes Series<\/a>. I have previously reviewed many of his books at <a href=\"http:\/\/childrenshourbooks.blogspot.com\/search\/label\/Douglas%20Bond\">my children&#8217;s literature blog<\/a>. Mr. Bond will be speaking on the topic, &#8220;Biblical Poetry in a Post-Biblical, Post-Poetry World.&#8221;\u009d At 3pm Mr. Bond will continue the conversation by speaking further on how the Psalms should shape our hymns.<\/p>\n<p>Both of these are wonderful opportunities.
