We were blessed with the opportunity of having Doug in our house for a few days last week. Doug was here to speak in chapel as part of Union&#8217;s Psalms Project. You can read some about his address and get a link to the audio at <a href=\"http:\/\/rvanneste.blogspot.com\/\">my other blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One of my boys commented, &#8220;Daddy, all of Mr. Bond&#8217;s books have to do with the Psalms.&#8221;\u009d He is right! In the <a href=\"http:\/\/childrenshourbooks.blogspot.com\/search\/label\/covenanters\">Crown &amp; Covenant<\/a> series as well as the <a href=\"http:\/\/childrenshourbooks.blogspot.com\/2007\/05\/mkethe-saga-continues-in-america.html\">Faith and Freedom series<\/a> the main characters sing the Psalms and demonstrate that their speech and lifestyles are molded by the Psalms. The <a href=\"http:\/\/childrenshourbooks.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/mr-pipes-comes-to-america.html\">Mr. Pipes series<\/a> is devoted to introducing readers to the singing of the Psalms and hymnody shaped by the Psalms.<\/p>\n<p>I commend to you these books, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uu.edu\/audio\/chapel\/spring09\/030609.mpg\">Bond&#8217;s address<\/a>, and the Psalms!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regular readers of this site will know that Douglas Bond is one of my family&#8217;s favorite authors.
