Back in March of this year, I was honored to give the The School of Christian Ministries Lecture at California Baptist University, where my friend, Dr. Chris Morgan, is dean. I have quite a few friends on the faculty there and really respect the work they are doing at Cal Baptist.

As part of my ongoing reflection on the oversight of souls as the heart of pastoral ministry, I chose to speak on “Each One Mature: Pau’s Pastoral Aim in Colossians 1:28-29.” That text contains a powerful, but I think often overlooked statement about the goal of pastoral ministry.
